Announcing the 2014 Heartland Chamber Music Festival Scholars
String Quartet Workshop
The Festival Scholars program is a tuition-free opportunity for two ensembles (8 highly gifted musicians) who have been accepted by audition from an exclusive international roster of up-and-coming young artists and pre-professional string quartets. As Festival Scholars, the two string quartets will participate in the Festival at a more intense level, receiving their coaching from each member of the Miami String Quartet, Ivan Chan and Jackie Lee, perform in their own scheduled appearance in Yardley Hall during the Festival, and perform live as featured artists on Kansas Public Radio. The Festival Scholars program is a chance for highly advanced students to learn firsthand what a career in the professional chamber music world can be. Pre-formed string quartets and individuals are encouraged to apply.
