Heartland Chamber Music Junior Festival is 6 exciting days of chamber music coaching, chamber orchestra and masterclasses for selected string students ages 15 and under. Students audition and are placed into small chamber ensembles where they work one-on-one with the faculty for two hours daily in preparation for the final concert.

The Junior Festival is held in conjunction with the Heartland Chamber Music Festival so that students can attend all masterclasses and performances in addition to their own scheduled activities.

Heartland Chamber Music Jr. Festival is a partnership with Midwest Trust Center at JCCC.

2021 Update

We are excited to celebrate our 20th-anniversary making music together in person! The faculty artists are hired, and our artists in residence have been booked and students are enrolling!

We are working closely with our partners at Midwest Trust and are monitoring the public health situation and the recommendations and guidelines of the CDC. Our goal is for everything to be conducted in person as safe as possible. We all must remain flexible and know that plans may change along the way. The health and safety of our students, faculty, and guests will remain our highest priority throughout the festival. If we are unable to host the entire festival in person all but $50 of your application fee will be refunded. The remaining $50 will cover your enrollment in a virtual version of the festival.
